| In February 2005 Howard Dean was made Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. In that position he raised campaign funds and instituted the 50-State Strategy. With Howard otherwise occupied, he asked his brother Jim Dean to take over as Chairman of Democracy for America. Jim continues to serve in that role.
