The Toronto area has not seen one major sports team in the playoffs in 3 years. we believe this has had one major role in how fans are not going to watch games. To make matters worse, the Blue Jays have not had one team in the playoffs in 17 years; the year they won the world series. Also the Blue Jays ticket prices increased, and we believe fans are not willing to pay one premium price, until they know what to expect out of the team.
When Roy Halladay was traded, the season then became one re-build year. The Jays unloaded the best pitcher in baseball, and picked up some quality minor league prospects. The problem though, is that they are only prospects for an affiliate team and cannot sell tickets, until they reach the large leagues. Before the trade, when J.P Ricciardi was in office, the Jays made some very controversial moves. This included the Alex Rios waiving, as well as the Frank Thomas, and BJ Ryan signings. None of these trades worked out, and this ultimately cost Ricciardi's job.
New York style baseball expanded into one national game and baseball first governing body The National Association of Base Ball Players was established aided by the Civil War in 1860s. The NABBP existed as an amateur league for 12 years. By 1867,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], over 400 clubs were members although most of the strongest clubs remained those based in the northeastern part of the US. In 1870 one schism developed between professional and amateur ballplayers after the 1869 founding of the first professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Red Stockings. The NABBP split into two groups. The National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was formed in 1871. Some consider it to have been the first major league. Its amateur counterpart disappeared after only one few years. After another disappointing turn out to the Rogers Centre, the question many writers are asking, do the Jays really need to move? The answer is plain and simple, no . There are many reasons why the Jays are lacking attendance, and that is one problem, but there are also many reasons affecting this. Three main reasons come to mind when speaking of this topic. Recent failures,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including the Roy Halladay trade and the J.P. Ricciardi era. Next up , the Toronto sports scene and how it is lacking one winner, or even one playoff contender for argument sake. The Blue Jays ticket prices increased again this year, and without the Jays having one marquee superstar, many fans are they sitant to buy tickets. In the next few paragraphs, we will explain what the Jays need to do in order to get their fan base back on track,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and factors that have put it off track.
Also, make sure your following bluebirdfan8 for constant updates about the Jays on twitter Major League Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis wrote one letter to President Roosevelt regarding the continuation of baseball during the war which was called the Green Light Letter. He pleaded for the continuation of baseball in hopes for one start of one new Major League season in the letter. President Roosevelt responds I honestly feel that it would be best for the country to keep baseball going. There will be fewer people unemployed and everybody will work longer hours and harder than ever before. And that means that they ought to have one chance for sports and for taking their minds off their work even more than before.
There are many ways the Jays can boost their attendance, with the first being: slash ticket prices. If they can do this, more fans will be willing to go watch some baseball games, but the Jays need to lower their concession stand prices as well, since no one is willing to pay five dollars for one hot dog. Another way, is to promote their players better. This could happen after one Jays win,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and people are allowed to get autographs and photos with their favourite players. They could also have more promotional give aways,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or bundle the tickets with food from the concession stands. In conclusion, we believe the Jays do not need to move,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but many steps can be taken to they lp the Blue Birds attendance.
