PostWysłany: Śro 9:22, 17 Lis 2010    Temat postu: NFL New York Yankees Trade Brian Bruney to Washin

Bruney will go to Washington and have a chance to be the eighth inning set-up to current closer Mike MacDougal.
For a guy with honorable stuff, Bruney walks way, way to many batters.
There was one trade today so far, but a blockbuster it is not.
But, of course Bruney struggled, got hurt, Phil Hughes took over in the eighth, and the rest is history.
Remember,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it was Bruney who came into the 2010 season as the eighth inning set-up guy to Mariano Rivera.
Bruney for his career has averaged 6.2 walks/9 innings.
Today,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the fresh, unique,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], original, unusual, novel, modern, current, recent York Yankees traded relief pitcher Brian Bruney to the Washington Nationals for a Player To Be Named Later. This is probably a good thing for Bruney career.
Bruney, who is 28, strikes me as a guy who can pitch in a big market. Every single time the Yankees gave him an opportunity to do something in the Bronx, either Bruney got hurt or imploded.
There is an outside chance of Bruney getting a shot at being the closer in Washington if the Nationals non-tender MacDougal.
Bruney has pitched six seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Yankees and will be under the Nationals?control until after the 2010 season.
Lincecum was selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 48 round of the 2003 MLB Draft; however he did not sign up for the team. He decided to attend college instead and was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the 42 round on entering the draft in 2005, but once again failed to sign. In 2004,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he was drafted tenth overall by the San Francisco Giants becoming the first player from the University of Washington to be taken in the first round. He signed for a 2.025 million dollars signing award on June 30,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which at the time was the highest amount the organization had ever paid to any amateur player until they gave 2.1 million dollars to Angel Villalona a little over a month later.
The baseball winter meetings is underway and there is nothing to better help to kick off the meetings than a blockbuster trade.

You can follow The Ghost of Moonlight Graham on Twitter @ theghostofmlg He earned his first major league victory in his next start on the road against the Colorado Rockies. Lincecum who is often compared to Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Oswalt faced him in each of his next two starts, Oswalt with the Astros at the time. After the first agree up, Astros third baseman Mike Lamb said,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], The stuff he was throwing out there tonight was everything he is hyped up to be. He was 97 mph with movement. You just don't see that every day. He pitched very much like the pitcher he is compared to and out dueled him throughout the night. The pair dueled to a no decision the first time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Lincecum pitched eight innings and got the win the second time. The Giants asked Lincecum not to throw the bullpen sessions typical of other pitchers during the off season. Manager Bruce Bochy told the San Francisco Chronicle that they were being careful with Lincecum because there have been studies that show that pitchers who throw 200 innings early in their career were more susceptible to injuries.
Bruney needs to limit his walks and, of course, stay healthy in order to be effective for the Nationals.

It hard to rely on a guy who goes to a 3-2 count on every batter and almost walks as many as Tim Lincecum strikes out 8.9 K/9 for his career.
