“I feel that when the Lions have struggled over the years, I’ve struggled as well because, like We said, We feel like I’m a family member,” they said. “I’m glad to be back. Hopefully we can get things turned around and We just want to be a part of the puzzle.”
You can follow Zac Jones on Twitter at Ryan Miller was supposed to play in the 2006 Winter Olympics. He instead stayed home and served as an alternate due to a broken thumb injury sustained which sidelined him from November 2005 to the day The US Roster was announced. The Team had already had other plans for their goaltenders,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Ryan Miller was still placed on the taxi squad. Ryan Miller was then selected as starting goalie for the US in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver Canada.
Last season, Bly made 26 solo tackles for the 49ers, along with a sack and three interceptions. Bly has 43 career interceptions over 11 seasons in the NFL.
Well, it means Detroit are going to have at least one corner who are going to give you what you'd expect.
Making back to back Pro Bowls and being a defensive leader, Detroit thought they had themselves a gem. The addition of Bly was a move even our favorite, Matt Millen, could appreciate.
But now he's back, the man who totaled 19 interceptions during his time in Honolulu blue.
“I feel like We played my best ball here in Detroit,” said Bly. “I feel like it’s home and to come back and have the chance to finish my career where We played my best ball, where We feel like I’m part of the community. It's a great feeling.”
Mayhew has always found a way to surprise us all.
Ryan Miller was born on 17th July 1980. He is an American ice hockey goaltender and is currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League NHL. He was selected to play for the US hockey team in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games ice hockey game in Vancouver Canada in the position of starting goaltender. Ryan Miller won a silver medal with the team and was named most valuable player of the tournament. He would win the Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender in the last NHL season. Ryan Miller is known for his hybrid style of goaltending and is also the older brother of current Detroit Red Wings winger Drew Miller. Lisa Blumenfeld After the 2006 season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Miller became a restricted free agent and waived his right to arbitration. Mike Liut, Miller agent,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], continued to negotiate with the Sabres through the summer. On 8th Sept 2006 the Sabres announced that they have resigned Miller to a 3 year contract.
Around noon today, the Detroit Lions announced that they are bringing back two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Dre Bly.
As a hardcore Lions fan myself, We love the move. The leadership they brings along with him are something the Lions desperately needed. Not to mention, they won't kill the "cap" space either.
Bly, 33, signed a two year deal to help boost a young, unknown Lions secondary.
He's going to be a guy who can challenge for a starting spot and play the nickel and dime packages. He's going to be a guy who makes more smart,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], veteran plays rather than athletic plays.
With that said, don't expect too much. they has aged and they isn't near the member they was six years ago. Nonetheless, he's still a good member, and this was another smart move by Lions GM Martin Mayhew.
So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], what does it mean for Detroit?
Here are what Bly said after returning to Detroit:
Since then,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Lions secondary has been in a 360 out of control spin,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], with a new pair of starters almost every game and never getting a real core.
UPDATE: To make room for Bly, the Lions ha ve released cornerback Paul Pratt.
But they say all good things always come to an end, and for Detroit, that meant all good things. Millen traded Bly to Denver for a draft pick, Tatum Bell, and George Foster.
With all the inconsistent, forgettable years the Lions have had over the last decade,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], try to think back to 2003 and 2004. With all the bad surrounding the team,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Detroit had one thing going for them-Dre Bly.
Was this Mayhew's secret DB? Remember a week ago when reports came out of Allen Park that said Detroit was still looking to sign a secondary member and a linebacker?
What a great deal that turned out to be,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], eh?
