While one rookie (WR Mike Williams) has made an immediate impact during the first three games of the season, Bucs fans are still waiting for first-rounder [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] to really dominate on the defensive side.

I don’t know about a bunch, but [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] does have five tackles and a forced fumble in three games. What is alarming though, is the fact that his production has gone down in each game. Against Pittsburgh [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] did not show up on the stat sheet at all. However, Morris stills feels like his rookie is contributing very well.
“Yeah, it is helping him because he is flushing guys out and Quincy (Black) is capping guys off,” said Morris. “It’s not about the sack numbers. It’s did you affect the quarterback’s throw? Were you able to knock the pass down? Did you make the quarterback run outside the pocket so that he couldn’t see his wide open receiver? All those things happen when you talk about one-on-one rush. But the sacks will come.”
“If I was thinking selfishly for [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I probably would say, ‘Yes,’ but thinking selfishly for a defensive standpoint,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that makes us better,” Morris said. “If he was a selfish player he would come to me and say, ‘Hey just leave me at this one position so I can get better at it,’ but does not have that in him. Our defense needs him to move around to be productive and be smart, and be sharp, and be wise beyond his years so to speak. And he has been. …During the season, you’ve got to do what’s best for the football team.”
Morris on McCoy: The Sacks Will Come

Morris does not think he is stunting the 6-foot-4, 295-pound [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]’s growth at the undertackle spot by shifting him along the D-line, but is he? After all, Detroit’s Ndamukong Suh, who was picked one spot ahead of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] in the 2010 draft, has 12 tackles and two sacks in his first three games. But Morris is not worried about numbers. He is worried about making his team better.
“I think it helps him because they can’t find him a little bit,” said Morris. “It helps to get him in different spots where he is able to make disruptive plays. He has two tackles for a loss and a bunch of tackles for us. The sacks will come; we just have to continue to rush. … So we’ll do some different things up there and search for different answers.”

Head coach and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has been moving his three technique all over the defensive line trying to create confusion for the opponent.
